How Consent Is Collected

Huntsville Haven only sends text messages to users who provide their mobile number and explicitly agree to receive SMS communication.

1. User provides their phone number

An administrator creates the user account and enters the user's cell number in the user profile.

2. User is told what messages are for

SMS messages are limited to reservation updates, account access support, and urgent property notifications related to Huntsville Haven.

3. User opts in before texts are sent

The user profile includes a dedicated Text Consent field. Huntsville Haven only sends SMS messages when that consent flag is enabled for the user.

4. Required disclosure

Users are informed that message and data rates may apply and that they can opt out of future messages at any time by replying STOP.

5. Opt-out handling

If a user replies STOP, Huntsville Haven records that opt-out and disables future text messaging for that phone number until consent is re-enabled by an administrator.

Example Consent Language

“I agree to receive text messages from Huntsville Haven about reservations, account access, and urgent property notifications. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”
